Dr Olivier Piguet was born and raised in Switzerland. He completed his undergraduate psychology training in Geneva before a Master’s degree in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Melbourne and then a PhD in Psychology at the University of Sydney. In his research, Olivier investigates the effects of ageing on the brain and on thinking abilities with the aim to identify changes that are secondary to abnormal ageing (due to dementia, for example) from those associated with healthy ageing. He is particularly interested in memory, emotion processing and complex thinking abilities. When he is not working, Olivier enjoys cooking, listening to one of his many CDs, eating chocolate and spending time with his family and his cat.
